Frank Coburn (1862-1938)
Landscape painter. Born in Chicago, Illinois on July 4, 1862. Coburn was primarily self-taught artist except for brief study in St. Louis and Chicago. After moving to Los Angeles from the Midwest in 1909, he was active in the local art scene. He made many sketching trips throughout California and exhibited in Los Angeles galleries through the late 1920s. He specialized in landscapes with architectural features. Coburn died in Santa Ana, California on November 13, 1938.
